THE KNUCKLES REPORT*

*"ADVENTURES with ALLISON BUNTING"

Established September 1, 1999

* Hello everybody and welcome to my web site, my name is Allison and this is my cat Knuckles you see running around your screen. THE KNUCKLES REPORT is my weekly journal featuring little stories or interesting tidbits from my corner of the world. I hope you enjoy your visit today.

* Can you guess the name of the song that is playing? The artist? You can find the answers in THE KNUCKLES REPORT archives.

* ABOUT ME... My full name is Allison Nicole Bunting and I am nine years old. I live in Ionia, a beautiful small community in central Michigan. I am currently in the fourth grade, and attend St. Peter and Paul Elementary School. My teacher's name is Mrs. Weeks. (Do you think I'll get some "extra credit points" for mentioning her on my web site?)

* HOBBIES AND INTERESTS... I love to read. Spending an afternoon at the public library is one of my favorite pastimes. You may find me drawing, writing stories, listening to music, or riding my bicycle most afternoons.

I also enjoy bird watching. We created a bird sanctuary in my backyard, complete with various feeding, water, and nesting stations. I keep a journal of the different birds and mammals, (we have squirrels, skunks, opossums, chipmunks, woodchucks, racoons, and rabbits) that pay us a visit.

* FAMILY... My loving and caring parents Matt and Carrie Bunting, and my mischievous, (but dearly loved) little brother Michael.

My grandparents Mark (Papa) and MaryJo Sparks of Belding Michigan, and Elton and Mary Bunting also from Belding, whose love, support, and guidance makes me feel so special. Great grandparents Steve and Ila Sparks of Saranac Michigan, who I wish I could visit more often, and great grandmothers Margie Klien the "bingo-mistier" of Ionia, and Virgie Green of Haslett Michigan.

* PETS... My beloved Knuckles, a male tuxedo cat. He has green eyes, long black fur with white paws, and is partially white on his belly, mouth, and nose. Knuckles is 2 years old and fills his days with mischief.

Sassy is my timid and very shy cat adopted from the Humane Society, (who in turn, rescued her from a raccoon trap). She is 2 years old with long gray fur streaked with white and brown highlights. She spends her days "meowing" for you to pet her, but when you approach her... off she runs!

Binx is a stray female cat who appeared on our porch one day, she was very thin and extremely hungry. She has short black and orange fur with beautiful green eyes, about 2 years old. She is still an outdoor cat, however we are slowly making the transition too indoors. She spends her days peering in our windows, teasing Knuckles and Sassy. All of my cats enjoy our aquarium of tropical fish.

I also have 4 rabbits, Mystic, Ears, Velvety and Horizon, all of which you may learn more about in MYSTIC MESSAGES.

and now...

THE KNUCKLES REPORT

* * TODAYS ADVENTURE... It was Halloween, the spookiest day of the year; at least for Knuckles that is. All the neighborhood children were out trick-or-treating while Knuckles sat atop the kitchen counter, munching-away on the leftover ham Michael had left on his dinner plate.
Suddenly, WHAM... a huge black bat crashes against the kitchen window, startling Knuckles from his counter-perch.

Knuckles back hunches in an arch, his fur stands at attention while he stares at the strange creature sitting on the windowsill.
"Would you be so kind and invite me in?" inquired the bat with a fancy voice.
"NO WAY...!" Knuckles shrugged and hissed.
"Let me in" the bat repeated impatiently.
My mom, returning from checking on our rabbits, opens the backdoor allowing the black bat to zoom-in, landing next to Knuckles on the floor.

"Who are you?" asked Knuckles.
"I am Count Dracula" the furry black bat replied in a spooky tone.
"I am Knuckles the Tuxedo cat" Knuckles returned proudly.
Knuckles, unable to resist, paws at the winged creature.
Twirling away, the spinning bat turns into a vampire.
Knuckles eyes bulged like two eerie golf balls, his mouth hung ajar like a soccer ball; "was he really seeing this in the dimly lit room?"

*
"DING-DONG" the front door chimes...
"TRICK or TREAT" roars the children.

Count Dracula not wanting to be seen by the trick-or-treaters, twirls-away, transforming back into the eerie black bat. Knuckles seizing the opportunity snatches the black bat from midair and runs toward's the front door.
Knuckles glances at the little boy wearing a vampire costume and smirks. He deposited the black bat in the little vampire's trick or treat bag and bounded away...
"Now where did I leave that ham?" he wondered aloud.

Is this story true or false?*
